Tesla has enabled installment purchases for the highly anticipated and controversial Cybertruck for U.S. buyers. American customers can now purchase the Cybertruck on a payment plan of $999 per month. According to official information, U.S. buyers can acquire the all-wheel-drive version of the Cybertruck over three years with a $7,500 down payment.
For the more powerful “Cyberbeast” version, buyers can make payments of up to $1,715 per month over two years without a down payment. Tesla introduced this installment option after processing many of the Cybertruck’s backlog orders. Early models of Tesla’s electric pickup were priced over $100,000, a far cry from the $39,900 base price Elon Musk promised at the vehicle’s 2019 debut.
Despite lower sales numbers compared to the Model Y SUV and Model 3 sedan, Tesla announced to investors last month that the Cybertruck was the third best-selling electric vehicle in the U.S. in the past quarter. Tesla has not yet released exact quarterly delivery figures for the Cybertruck, instead reporting its sales combined with those of the Model S sedan and Model X SUV.
